Why Radar Detector Sales Might Go Up In April & May 2009 in New Jersey

Posted by admin on Apr 21, 2009 in Uncategorized

Got this from a couple of people this week, so it’s either true, or one of those email urban legends…

Here’s the latest NJ State Police Initiative (Radio Station 101.5 FM
confirmed this info).

Starting yesterday, New Jersey will launch a 30-day speeding ticket frenzy.
The state estimates that 9 million dollars will be generated in speeding
tickets. One million dollars will go to pay state troopers over-time.

There will be 50 state troopers on duty at all times patrolling the 9 main
intersections and highways as follows:

I-295 North and South,
I-95 Jersey Turnpike North and South
I-80 East and West
I-287 North and South
I-78 East and West
I-195 East and West
I-280 East and West
Route 130 – North and South
Garden State Parkway – North and South

5 MPH above the limit can justify a ticket and every state trooper is
supposed to pull a car over and write a ticket every 10 to 20 minutes.

They have issued 30 brand new unmarked Crown Victoria cruisers and are
bringing in all of their part-timers on full time.

If you work in NJ, NY, DE or CT, you will probably be on one of these highways. So, please be on guard and drive safely!

Starting August 15, the price of a violation to show your driver’s license,
registration or insurance card at the time you are stopped, increased from
$44.00 to $173.00. (Keep these documents in your car). And the fine for not
having all three documents is $519.00!

The fine for hand-held cell phone use while driving will be going up to
$180.00

Don’t recycle the calendar yet. The 2009 recycling calendar for each zone has not been published yet, other than in the town planner calendar that was mailed to all residents to make sure you don’t throw that…

It’s 2 o’clock on Tuesday. Do you know where the animals are?

Posted by admin on Sep 2, 2008 in Uncategorized

Hey, it’s officially 2pm on Tuesday! Do you know what that means?

FREE admission for everyone to the Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange, NJ! Right behind the Codey Arena at South Mountain, you’ll find the entrance to a cute and quaint little zoo.

Yes, they make a big deal about the fact that Turtle Back Zoo is now an accredited zoo. That means they have a hospital and other upgraded facilities that will ensure the best health and protection for the animals and a great experience for the kids visiting the destination.

We’re going to try out the free choo choo train ride around the South Mountain lake as well as the new animal carousel, which isn’t actually free…$2.00 :( But at least we save on the $8 admission for adults as well as the $4 admission for kids it normally takes to get into the zoo.

See you there!
