But the contest deadline of November 15th has come and we are now able to pick the winner of the free zoo membership. In order to work towards transparency in picking the zoo contest winner, here’s the video selecting the winner:

It’s November, and that means that some local mountains are going to be blowing new snow this coming week to open up for Thanksgiving weekend!
That means it’s time to head over to Pelican Ski on Route 10 West to pick up rental skis or snowboards for the season or tune up the ones sitting in your garage.
We’ve paid about $100 for the skis, boots and poles for the kids’ rentals for the entire season.
You don’t have to return them till the next year (now!). So far, the guys that set-up and tune the skiis have been very friendly, so we’ve gone back a couple of years in a row. Probably until the kids stop growing so we can finally invest in a long-term set of skis…or snowboards by that time, I’d figure!
