But you must get in touch with us (email us at info (at) fingerclickinggood.com) asap otherwise, we’ll have to pick another winner and give the prize away to another lucky entrant!
The snowy owl misses you. If we don’t hear from you by midnight Thanksgiving Day 2009, we’re going to proceed with plan B: Pick another winner from the original contest entries from the contest page.
The holidays are coming, and it’s the right time to plan some really good quality time with the family. Instead of going into NYC to get some culture, you can take the entire family, kids and all, to see Sleeping Beauty put on by the Livingston-based New Jersey Ballet Company right around home.
This production of Sleeping Beauty is produced with families in mind, and most of this ballet company’s productions of this type really delight the kids. At $17 per ticket, it surely will delight your wallet as well!
Here’s a neat little feature of Google Maps that most people don’t know about.
While you probably have figured out the satellite view and the real-time traffic overlay features, there’s also another neat little feature that lets you discover all the videos uploaded to YouTube, photos and webcams that are geocoded to different locations while you are viewing any section of Google Maps.
Whenever you upload videos and photos, more and more sites like Picasa for photos and YouTube for videos are letting you tag the media files with actual geographic locations. Google is taking this geo data and integrating it with their map data just for you.
Holiday parties are coming up. And most groups need to find a good venue to host them.
During the rest of the year, there might be times that you need to find the right space to book an event for a meeting, seminar, etc. Whether it’s for 20 people or 200 people and beyond, there’s a couple of resources that help you find the right space for your event.
Venfino.com is a neat site where you can submit the requirements of your event, even budget and then the site filters the ones that meet your criteria. Don’t forget to look at non-traditional spaces like studios which can be set-up to accomodate different tables/chairs configurations, even if you dont’ normally associate the type of space with what you’re planning. Once you open up the possibilities, the rates can be surprisingly affordable!
We had almost 100 entries, including some across the Twitterverse.
But the contest deadline of November 15th has come and we are now able to pick the winner of the free zoo membership. In order to work towards transparency in picking the zoo contest winner, here’s the video selecting the winner:
Congratulations to our winner! Thanks for participating to all our readers.
It’s November, and that means that some local mountains are going to be blowing new snow this coming week to open up for Thanksgiving weekend!
That means it’s time to head over to Pelican Ski on Route 10 West to pick up rental skis or snowboards for the season or tune up the ones sitting in your garage.
We’ve paid about $100 for the skis, boots and poles for the kids’ rentals for the entire season.
You don’t have to return them till the next year (now!). So far, the guys that set-up and tune the skiis have been very friendly, so we’ve gone back a couple of years in a row. Probably until the kids stop growing so we can finally invest in a long-term set of skis…or snowboards by that time, I’d figure!
