Free Movie Theater Tickets for The Spiderwick Chronicles

Posted by admin on Jul 21, 2009 in amc lowes, free, movie tickets

Looks like it’s rain rain rain this week, which only means, it is time to hit the movies!

If you have kids hanging around the house, bored to death with only indoor options for playing and/or causing trouble, what can you do?

Especially knowing that 1/2 the summer is yet to pass by before you ship them off to school again, how about the movies?

Well. . .The Spiderwick Chronicles is playing at AMC Lowes Theaters tomorrow – Wednesday for ONLY A BUCK movie ticket admission! plus the Kids Snack Pack (drink, popcorn, candy) is only $3 or $4 each.

My favorite kids movie review site for parents says this movie is appropriate for 8-year olds and up, although 5-year olds may express interest in the story.

Here’s the local theaters where it’s all happening at 10am.

Summertime Reading for Kids

Posted by admin on Jul 2, 2009 in barnes and noble, borders books, free books, summer reading log

School’s out and summer is officially here.

“No More Books!” shouts the kids on the block.

But don’t listen to what they are saying because they’re screaming about SCHOOL BOOKS, not the other kind. You know, the kind where you enter into a completely different world, forget about the noise around you and disappear for hours at a time with Harry Potter and the gang.

Summer reading is the perfect way to spark the imagination. You’ll be surprised how the right set of books can turn into role-playing games and non-stop conversational topics all summer long.

Here’s two ways to get out of the blocks and into the race to read as many books as you can before school starts again!

  • Barnes & Noble rewards kids that read just EIGHT books. Fill out their Summer Reading Log and bring it into a local store for a choice of a completely free book.
  • Borders Books & Music does a similar Summer Reading Program where if you bring in a completed Summer Reading Log, you’ll get to pick-up one of several cool activity kits for only $4.99 (all are either 50% off or more the regular price) like 4-jigsaw puzzle kit, How to Draw Spongebob Square Pants kit, two different 3-book collections, and more.
