Another bright idea?

Posted by admin on Oct 31, 2007 in christmas, decoration, lights, livingston, nj

I just saw another ad for installation, maintenance, removal, storage and design of exterior Christmas lighting for residences! Christmas is already here?

Holiday Illuminotors (phone 973-228-2867) is the second company that I have seen marketing Christmas tree and outside decoration services. This one differentiates themselves by claiming each job is inspected by electricians that are licensed.

Hungry for Malaysian cuisine

Posted by admin on Oct 29, 2007 in east hanover, nj

Penang restaurant on route 10 in East Hanover, New Jersey (Telephone call 973-887-6989) is the best place to get Malaysian and Thai food locally.

Be sure to try the Roti Canai as an appetizer.

Very subtle, but beware that the waiters and staff are all “business savvy” in that they consistently “guide” you to order drinks, appetizers, etc in addition to what you want. It’s all done very gently, and you don’t notice it until you go a couple of times. They are trained very well in this art of suggestion.

It’s a good thing that most all the items on the menu are good.

Unlikely Halloween

Posted by admin on Oct 27, 2007 in morris museum, morristown, nj

One of the last places you’d associate with jugglers, pumpkin painting, spooky storytimes, talking deer heads mounted on walls and face painting would be a museum.

But that’s exactly where we went this Saturday afternoon — to the Morris Museum in Morristown NJ. Although it certainly wasn’t cheap ($30 for a family of 4), it was a unique and fun event. The staff put a lot of effort into making it fun for the kids with different planned activities and scavenger hunt throughout the museum.

Hits with the kids at this Morris Museum Halloween Extravaganza:

  • Face painting
  • Story time
  • Make your own Boo-bracelets
  • And the juggler who seems to following us around everywhere we turned

Sweet Endings in Dublin

Posted by admin on Oct 27, 2007 in dublin pub, morristown

We met again at the Dublin Pub Friday night in the back room for a great session of classic table fellowship.

The Prime Rib special was a treat. But if you want to ensure a sweet ending to any meeting at the Dublin Pub in Morristown NJ — literally — then here’s my tip for the day – do some strategic planning when ordering and get the dessert orders in before you do anything! The homemade desserts are a fine feast by themselves and the one that you’ll want to feast upon later might not be there anymore. RESERVE your dessert before you even go for that first drink to start the night.

You’ll thank me for this tip on your next trip to the Morristown landmark next to the theatre when you’re enjoying your sweet ending to your night.

Safety Alert: Parents Beware!

Posted by admin on Oct 26, 2007 in bernardsville, madison, nj
Four times in September and October 2007, the Police Departments of Madison, New Jersey and Bernardsville, New Jersey received reports where adults drove up the children and try to lure them in to their cars.

The ages of the kids were 11, 12, and middle school age.

None were successful, but we need to remind our children not to talk to strangers.

Do it today don’t delay.

Touchdown Deli is now…

Posted by admin on Oct 25, 2007 in livingston, touchdown deli
Touchdown Deli is now open at 498 South Livingston Avenue in the shopping center across the street from Shop Rite shopping center.

Their telephone number: 973-535-8200.

I’ve seen ads announcing that they’re serving breakfast, sandwiches, party platters and they deliver too. Although for breakfast, the Super Duper Bagels shop a couple of doors down has REALLY good hand-rolled bagels…yummmmmmy.

I wonder how good it is, Has anyone been to Touchdown Deli in Livingston yet?

Techno Trash day!

Posted by admin on Oct 25, 2007 in Uncategorized
Techno Trash day will be held on October 3rd at the Livingston Community Center at 204 Hillside Avenue.

This is a great time to get all your stuff recycled such as printers, fax machines, scanners, speakers, stereos, DVD players, toasters, CD’s and DVD’s, video tapes, audio tapes, game cartridges, zip drives, thumb drives, hard drives, computer tapes, inkjet toner cartridges, batteries and chargers.

Throw it out! You gain more space, the stuff gets recycles. The garbage dumps will be less cluttered.
